MOSAID Technologies Inc. has a requirement for an experienced and self-motivated technical professional to fill the role of Patent Licensing Engineer.

Job Purpose and Mandate:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Microcomponents Licensing, the Patent Licensing Engineer is responsible for providing technical lead/support in the technology areas of digital and microprocessor integrated circuits systems and software.

Duties:

• Initiating and performing patent infringement analysis on target products/technologies.
• Performing system-level infringement analysis, including performing and participating in product teardowns and tests.
• Participating in Patent Acquisition programs by providing technical support and valuation of the target portfolio.
• Assisting with Patent Prosecution.
• Participate in outsourcing of infringement and other analysis when required.
• Keeping abreast of the latest technologies in various fields including digital system and software.

Job Requirements:

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years experience with microprocessor technology in view of both hardware and software
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the field of intellectual property including patent assertion or patent prosecution
• At least intermediate knowledge of digital or mixed signal circuit design
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues and to provide logical conclusion
• Excellent presentation skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent time management skills to be able to complete multiple projects under time constraints
• Ability to travel extensively
• Self-motivated and the ability to work under minimal supervision

Job Assets:

• Experience with IC design, hardware design, and software development
• Good understanding of current SoC technology and standard or defacto standard
• Experience with patent licensing and/or prosecution.
